Two Hands, Two Font Finds

One day I want to make a robotic syle of puppet, just so I can use these hands as they are here.  I love how the wires look like tendons.

Next these’ll get dipped in liquid latex and painted.

Also, I don’t know how many of you stopmotioners get excited about fonts, but I do.  These guys fell into my inbox in the past week or so:

Compendium at Veer.com

Handmade, by Misprinted Type, at MyFonts

Aren’t they luscious?

Those hands look incredible! Can’t wait to see them move!!

I got the MyFonts notice about Misprinted Type too, went exploring deeper in, when I saw the little thumbnails in the gallery of fonts by that house in use I recognized the art to be none other than the fantastic collages of Eduardo Recife! Turns out he sells his own fonts, the ones he uses in his gorgeous art, through the name Misprinted Type. I loved all of them–so inspiring!

I love how you use type in your designs. Tal-lent-ted.

Yes! I was very excited about his new fonts when I got that newsletter. I’ve been a fan of his for a while, and use his older fonts often! (I used one in that chart in the last post…)
I don’t know if I’ll buy this Handmade one though — I’m tempted, and I love the idea of it, but I just worry that it’s so specific to him. If I ever use it anywhere it will instantly look like his artwork… you know? But maybe not… we’ll see! 🙂
